Lithuanian Business Council Launches: The American-Lithuanian Business Council is launching today, and Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite came to Washington to back the new group. She is preparing to take over as EU president on July 1. Eric Stewart, with Williams & Jensen, is serving as the board's new president. The council's board is made up of Strategic Staffing Solutions serving as chief, Chevron serving as vice chairman, Western Union serving as treasurer, Exelon Generation as secretary, Fluor, Maersk and Thermo Fisher Scientific serving as general board members. The council is trying to enable a relationship between the two countries to foster the private sector, support trade and commerce, and strengthen people-to-people connections.
