ALBC President Eric Stewart travels to Chicago with Lithuanian Ambassador Zygimantas Pavilionis and EU Ambassador João Vale de Almeida to speak at a breakfast on the benefits of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership for Midwest businesses. Stewart stressed that TTIP is a historical opportunity to further deepen transatlantic relations by strengthening both the United States and Europe’s economies.
ALBC led its inaugural business mission to Vilnius, comprising a delegation of 13 corporate executives from six American companies who are actively engaged in Lithuania. The delegation was received by top Lithuanian government officials, including President Dalia Grybauskaitė, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius, and Minister of Economy Evaldas Gustas.
The delegation also met with leading Lithuanian business associations and was hosted by U.S. Ambassador Deborah McCarthy during its trip.
ALBC looks forward to sustaining and building on the productive relationships forged during its first trip to the capital.
Business Council President Stewart speaks at the 5th Annual U.S.-Central Europe Strategy Forum in partnership with the Lithuanian Presidency of the European Union and the Hungarian Initiatives Foundation, and with sponsorship by the International Visegrad Fund and Chevron. The conference brought together 200 participants from 17 countries, featuring 33 speakers, seven panels and two keynote presentations on the full spectrum of U.S.-Central European relations in security, politics and economics.
